Where are you from? Tell us about it.
The Philippines. It is a small country known to be a group of islands. It has a strong catholic religious culture and family ties are well valued.

What main differences that you have noticed since moving to Darwin?
The Philippines is very populated. In comparison, Darwin has much less population.

What things do you miss from home?
Food, friends and family.

What were you doing prior to coming to Darwin?
I worked as a Radiographer for 10 years.

Why did you choose Casino School?
It offers heaps of opportunity and also has Industry Placement, which allows me to work while I learn.

The most interesting part of the hospitality industry?
Meeting new people from many different backgrounds.

Favourite part of the course so far?
Industry Placement.

Where do you want this course to take you?
I would like to be in a supervisory or managerial role in the hospitality one day. I would also like to share my knowledge with students who are just starting the course.

What sort of accommodation did you find?
I am living in the city with my family.

What have you been doing to improve your English?
Speaking lots of English. I also watch a lot of English TV and movies.

What are you most looking forward to?
Completing the course and finding a full-time job in the hospitality industry.

What are your plans for the future?
I would love to stay here and work in the hospitality industry.

Advice for future students?
Study hard, be responsible and enjoy your education. ICAE’s staff are very helpful to the students. I appreciate all their hard work.
